Everyone asks for Schufa. What is it and how do I get one?

SCHUFA = German credit score. Most landlords require it. Get yours at meineschufa.de (free once/year via Datenkopie). New to Germany = no score (not bad score). Some landlords accept a Mietschuldenfreiheitsbescheinigung (letter from previous landlord) instead.
