Kinderzuschlag (KiZ) is a benefit for families whose income covers their own needs but not their children's. Maximum 2026: €297 per child/month. Requirements: At least €900 gross (couples) or €600 (single parents), no Bürgergeld entitlement. KiZ is paid together with Kindergeld and possibly Wohngeld.
